  • City of London, London
  • Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Property Associate to join a highly regarded London-based team specialising in high-value transactions across prime central London and regional England.

The team acts for ultra-high net worth individuals, families, and companies, predominantly with international interests in the UK property market. Clients include private banks (including Islamic/Shariah-compliant), providing lending and advice on the structuring and due diligence of residential property transactions.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with two Partners, an Associate, and two Paralegals, handling all aspects of residential property transactions.

These include acquisitions, disposals, and financing of UK real estate for international clients, primarily from the Middle East, as well as some domestic clients.
You will also assist with a wide range of transactional work, such as lettings, licences to assign or alter, and deeds of variation for private clients.

Typical transaction values range from £3 million for new builds to £5-£20 million for high-value second-hand properties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and taking ownership of a high-volume caseload under supervision.
  • Handling sales, purchases, and financing of freehold and leasehold residential properties.
  • Acting for borrowers and lenders (including Islamic banks), drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and responding to lender enquiries.
  • Preparing reports, SDLT forms, registrations, and completion statements.
  • Managing file administration and ensuring compliance with AML requirements.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced, time-sensitive workload with a professional and courteous approach to clients and stakeholders.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Approximately 4 years' PQE with solid residential property experience, including leasehold property management.
  • Expertise in sales, purchases, and mortgage transactions involving houses, flats, and off-plan new builds.
  • Ideally experience in property finance, particularly on the borrower side.
  • Confidence in managing complex title structures and providing clear, commercial advice to clients.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build client relationships.
  • Excellent organisation and time management, with attention to detail under pressure.
  • A team player with a proactive and flexible approach to work.

Preferred but not essential:

  • Experience working on financing transactions.
  • Background in a reputable London firm.
  • Language skills would be a big plus, but are not required.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with high-profile clients in a collaborative and dynamic environment. If you are a driven, ambitious solicitor looking to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
