Clinical Negligence Solicitor

Purpose of the Role

A leading regional law firm is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join its specialist Clinical Negligence team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior or Principal Associate to work on high-quality, complex matters within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of clinical negligence matters, including assisting on catastrophic injury and cerebral palsy claims, as well as advising clients in inquests and throughout the litigation process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of clinical negligence claims from instruction through to conclusion.

  • Assist senior fee earners with high-value and complex cases, including cerebral palsy and brain injury claims.

  • Take detailed client instructions and assess medical and legal issues to determine case prospects.

  • Prepare and review expert instructions and reports.

  • Draft key legal documentation such as letters of claim, schedules of loss, pleadings, and witness statements.

  • Maintain excellent client care and communication throughout each case.

  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, risk management, and professional conduct requirements.

Technical Expertise

  • Significant experience handling a varied caseload of clinical negligence claims, ideally including both litigated and pre-litigated work.

  • Proven experience assisting with or managing high-value catastrophic injury cases (e.g. cerebral palsy, brain injury).

  • Strong knowledge of clinical negligence law, procedure, and medical evidence.

  • Experience managing cases through all stages of litigation.
