The role
The firm is seeking to hire a Commercial Litigation Partner / Head of Department to join their City of London office.
- The firm are currently farming out all of their commercial litigation work to a couple of firms, however the firm are now at a size where they want to bring this work in-house. They receive a lot of instructions from their existing, growing client base. However to date they have never offered this service. You will come into this role to establish, build and grow the new commercial litigation department.
- You will be able to leverage existing clients to generate work flow
- This is an exciting role which will allow you the autonomy to grow and shape the firms commercial litigation department, both under and around you - you will have the full backing and support of the wider partnership, as well as access to their talented marketing and business development departments.
- The caseload will be general commercial litigation which will include; Contract disputes, IP disputes, Fraud, Misrepresentation, Debt recovery, Insolvency and Shareholder disputes. The work will be varied making for an interesting role.
- You will deal with a caseload that consists of representing Asia Pacific companies who have an operation in the UK, giving a unique international flavour to the work
- You will work with the other partners to drive the departments forwards
Requirements
- You will be a Commercial Litigation Solicitor with at least 7 years PQE (there is no upper limit to the amount of experience)
- You should have experience of developing and introducing new business.
- You will have a track record in developing new business
- You should ideally have experience of dealing with international clients, although this isn't essential.
- Salary is negotiable depending on your background and level of experience.
