The Role
The firm are seeking to hire a Competition Lawyer (up to 5 PQE) into their flourishing City of London office.
- This department is award winning, the team have won several prestigious accolades in recent years.
- This role will see you working in a team which is considered as one of the leading UK focused antitrust practices, with five established non-contentious Partners
- You will be working alongside wider fee earning and support staff and a market-leading competition litigation team (with which they work very closely).
- The team is experienced in managing high-profile antitrust cases and their diverse client base of major corporates provide the team with some of the most complex and high value competition enforcement, merger control, competition litigation and counselling matters in the market.
- The ideal candidate will support larger matters alongside senior colleagues and take the lead in smaller-scale matters, using strong project management skills to drive forward a range of Competition issues.
- The work will include:
- merger control,
- foreign direct investment,
- cartel work and behavioural antitrust matters,
- vertical supply-chain strategy,
- competition-led regulation such as GSCOP,
- economic regulation (water, energy etc.),
- transport regulation and antitrust-inspired regulations in financial services, such as rules around open banking and card payment interchange.
- You will also work closely with the competition litigation team, on major influential cases.
Requirements
- Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree.
- 1-5 years' experience gained in Competition law as a Solicitor qualified in England and Wales.
- Solid understanding of a variety of aspects of Competition law and a willingness to develop skills and expertise.
- Clear understanding of the needs of top tier clients.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Keen intellect and commercial mindset.
