The role
The firm is seeking to hire a Construction Partner for their City of London office.
- This role is to mainly deal with non-contentious work, the firm is happy to look at Lawyers who do contentious work as they are generally very busy
- You will join a thriving construction team of three in the London office, but will work as part of a wider Real Estate team in London, and across the firms regional offices
- You will work closely with the corporate commercial and constructions teams.
- You will work with the partnership to drive the departments forward, work on strategy, and will mentor develop and inspire more junior members of the team
- You will deal with a wide spectrum of companies across different sectors of varying sizes, from FTSE 500, National companies, to SMEs, the variety will make for an interesting caseload.
- You will deal with a caseload that consists of; contract drafting and negotiation on construction contracts, as well as sub contracts and consultancy agreements, advise on standard forms of contracts such as JCT, NEC, FIDIC, or bespoke contracts tailored to specific projects, you will also advise on risk allocation, delays, variations, liquidated damages, and force majeure. There will also be work involving risk management and compliance.
- You will have at least 8 years PQE in non-contentious construction (there is no upper limit)
