An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contentious Construction Partner to join a cutting-edge, award-winning law firm in London's West End. This is a rare and unique position, offering not only the chance to join one of the most dynamic firms in the market but also the opportunity to secure equity partnership, either in the future or immediately for the right candidate.

The Firm

Established in the mid-90s, this highly respected firm is known for its national reputation and strong presence in the West End. With a dynamic and ever-evolving practice, they represent leading names across UK real estate, finance, and construction, with a particular focus on innovative solutions to complex client matters.

Ranked highly in the Legal 500, the firm's Construction team provides first-class legal services, advising developers, contractors, investors, and public sector bodies. The firm's continued growth and success have led to a significant increase in headcount, and the department is poised for further expansion in the coming years.

The Role

This role is suited to a Construction Partner with significant experience in contentious construction law ideally with a focus on high-value disputes relating to real estate developments, and commercial contracts.

The firm is seeking a driven individual with strong client relationships to tap into with a commercial mindset who can build on the firm's continued success in this area.

You will be expected to further develop the firm's contentious construction offering, leveraging your experience and network to enhance the firm's market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle complex, high-value construction disputes, including adjudications, arbitrations, and litigation.
  • Advise developers, contractors, subcontractors, investors, and consultants on a range of contentious construction matters.
  • Work closely with clients to develop effective dispute resolution strategies, including mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
  • Play a key role in business development, strengthening the firm's presence in the construction disputes sector.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to provide a seamless client service.
  • Contribute to the growth and future direction of the Construction practice, ensuring it remains at the forefront of the market.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Extensive experience in contentious Construction law, with a strong background in litigation, arbitration, and adjudication (roughly 7+ years' PQE).
  • Dispute Resolution Expertise: Proven ability to manage complex, high-value construction disputes.
  • Client-Focused: Strong relationships with developers, contractors, and investors, with the ability to handle technically complex and commercially sensitive disputes.
  • Business Development: A proactive and driven approach to networking, client acquisition, and expanding the firm's market presence.

Why This Role?

  • Equity Partnership: Opportunity to secure equity partnership in the future or immediately, depending on experience and business case.
  • High-Quality Work: Engage in high-profile construction disputes, including major infrastructure and development projects.
  • Growth-Oriented Firm: Be part of an expanding, forward-thinking practice with a strong reputation in the market.
  • Prime Location: Join a highly regarded West End firm with excellent access to the legal and business community.
  • Competitive Package: Above-market salary, generous benefits, and a performance-based bonus structure (e.g., a £50,000 bonus for strong performance for mid-level solicitors last year).

This is an exciting chance for a Senior Construction Solicitor or Partner to take the next step in their career, securing a leading role with a clear pathway to equity partnership.
