Role
This Top 20 international law firm boasts a highly regarded and continuously expanding Construction department. They are now seeking an experienced Contentious Construction Partner to join their dynamic and growing team in Edinburgh.

With an established reputation in both domestic and global markets, the firm is known for handling complex, high-value disputes and project work across the UK and internationally.

In the North, the practice is undergoing significant strategic growth and is looking to expand its Contentious Construction department. The team is involved in landmark cases and cutting-edge infrastructure developments, providing expert advice on everything from adjudications and arbitrations to high-profile litigation.

You will always work with a prestigious and diverse client base, including central government bodies, major retailers, energy providers, infrastructure developers, universities and utility companies.

This Partner role plays a key part in shaping the future of the construction disputes team and presents a unique opportunity to drive growth, mentor talented lawyers and collaborate across practice areas within an ambitious and forward-thinking firm.

Your Experience

  • A strong track record of handling construction and infrastructure disputes, including experience in TCC litigation, adjudications, arbitrations and ADR.
  • Excellent client relationship and matter management skills, with the ability to lead significant contentious matters independently.
  • A commercial and growth-focused mindset, capable of identifying and developing new business opportunities through your reputation, technical expertise and client connections.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and locations, often with a cross-jurisdictional focus.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior lawyers and supporting team growth.
  • Dual qualification (Scotland and England & Wales) is essential for applicants seeking to join the Edinburgh office.
