Employment Counsel | International HR Business | Manchester
This is a unique in-house Employment Legal Counsel role based within a prestigious international HR business headquartered in Manchester.

This business is a well-established international HR business, headquartered in the UK but with hubs across North America and APAC. They are a leading provider of HR, Employment and H&S services, working with a range of clients from tech start-ups, SME's and household name multinationals.
Having excelled in the HR space over the last 25 years, this business also provides tax and payroll advice, assisting their clients with a range of essential HR focused services. They take pride in helping business owners to manage their Employment and H&S tasks.
The role
The business is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its Manchester-based in-house legal team as employment Counsel. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of employment law matters, both contentious and non-contentious, that arise within the company.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Preparing and submitting case documentation, including ET3 responses
- Reviewing and managing Employment Tribunal claims
- Advising the recruitment team on immigration matters and right-to-work queries
- Providing broader legal support on employment issues as needed.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the business's legal function within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You will work alongside a dedicated team of six legal professionals, gaining valuable exposure to a variety of employment law matters, working 5 days a week out of their Manchester office. Reporting directly to an experienced and supportive Head of Legal, you will receive exceptional guidance and mentorship, fostering your professional growth and development.
You will also have the opportunity to broaden your experience and knowledge with some commercial law matters.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer (4+PQE) with strong and relevant experience in commercial and employment law
- Fee earning experience either within a leading Law Firm or In House
