Finance Director

This Legal 500 practice is looking for a Finance Director to join their market leading team.
You will work alongside a heavy hitting team, headed up by Chambers & Legal 500 ranked Partners.

The Role:
As a Finance Director you will:
- Oversee daily accounting and legal cashier operations.
- Supervise and train accounts team, monitor performance, and allocate tasks.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, KPIs, and cash flow reports.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
- Monitor income, expenditure, and budget compliance.
- Post monthly journals (accruals, prepayments, payroll) and process VAT returns.
- Perform bank reconciliations, client-to-office transfers, and supplier invoice postings.
- Handle payroll processing and PAYE/NI payments.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage SAR audits and liaise with the bank and HMRC.
- Support senior management with analysis and address partner and staff queries.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in finance within a law firm
- Recent experience working under SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules in a law firm is essential
- You will have strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
