The Team
Our Health and Care Regulatory team provides advice and support to health, social care, education and housing organisations across the public and independent sector. We are a team of 38 colleagues operating out of all four of our offices (Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and London) on a flexible hybrid basis. We take pride in providing high-quality support to our clients which is clear, user-friendly and responsive. We are open to discussions about alternative working patterns.
The Role
Due to continued expansion, this firm is seeking a Senior Health & Care Regulatory Associate with 4 - 9 years of PQE to further strengthen its highly rated Birmingham team.
This leading health and care team provides advice and support to health, social care, education, and housing organisations across the public and independent sectors.
You will take a lead role in advising clients on a range of health, social care, and education issues, both contentious and non-contentious.
The overall team's services include management of complex litigation in the Court of Protection, human rights, inquests, mental health, safeguarding, patient safety, serious incident response, complaints and disputes, HSE/CQC inspection and enforcement, education, children law, and challenges to decision-making in health and social care.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of both advisory and litigation matters;
- Advocacy at inquests, Court of Protection hearings, and tribunals;
- Active involvement in business development; and
- Assist with the supervision of the team.
The Candidate:
You will have:
- Around 4 - 9 years of PQE working in health and care and/or court of protection matters;
- An interest in developing a career in health, social care law and/or education law;
- A team player with the temperament to form strong and sustained working partnerships
