This role is with a leading national law firm ranked in the Top 50 and has a clear, mapped out progression route (including to partnership for the right candidates). It offers the chance to work with a wide range of asset classes in both domestic and international markets. The team is known for their lender/creditor work, and you will have the opportunity to work on real estate financing across various sectors across both development and investment work for both lenders and borrowers.

The firm advises in all areas of real estate finance both investment and development, including syndicated, club and bilateral debt facilities. With great expertise on complex capital structures, including senior and mezzanine facilities, revolving credit facilities and intercreditor agreements.

As the team and firm continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Associate to help drive further success and client growth within the sector.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity within an established Real Estate Finance team. You will work alongside experienced lawyers and high-end clients. The firm itself gets a huge portion of their multi-million-pound turnover from the real estate sector, and this reputation feeds the REF team with great work, however, importantly they also generate deals themselves and aren't reliant on cross referrals.

The role itself will be highly rewarding varied covering a range of real estate financing, predominantly acting for clients on the lender and creditor side, however, candidates with borrower experience as well will be of high interest to the team so you can pivot to that type of work where required.

You will work closely with the London team on key clients advising leading banks and other lenders, borrowers, public bodies, loan servicers, security trustees, REITs and other funds in all areas of real estate finance.

Notable examples of work include advising on a £207 million sale and leaseback of 12 care homes and acquisition of 83 property portfolio to internalise its real estate ownership for a household named garage.

Requirements:

  • Be an experienced Real Estate Finance Lawyer, with 5+ years of PQE (England & Wales)
  • Extensive knowledge of both lender & creditor law is required
    • Borrower experience would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite for the role.
  • Strong business development drive with a natural instinct to build trust with clients
  • Motivated and goal-oriented, with a clear focus on advancing their career
