Real Estate Lawyer needed for International Law Firm in Hamburg
Are you a junior to mid-level Real Estate Lawyer/Associate looking to join a market leader with offices around the globe? This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm that deals with cutting-edge work and supports the continued professional growth of its lawyers.
The Client:
The firm in question is one of the most recognised players in the legal industry, with offices in more international jurisdictions than most, and which boasts a very high-level full-service offering across all key industry sectors. The work it does and the clients it serves is rivalled only by a few of its peers; indeed, this is a brand of choice and highly recognizable. The firm has some of the finest lawyers in the World working in its various jurisdictions and is consistently well-regarded in the Legal 500 and by other legal commentators.
Due to an increased workload, the real estate team at this firm in Hamburg, Germany, are looking to hire a junior-mid-level Real Estate lawyer to assist with day-to-day common real estate matters and to add additional strength to an already first-rate team with an ever-increasing number of client instructions.
The Opportunity:
The Real Estate law team of this firm regularly advises German and foreign groups in the context of their real estate needs.
The type of work that the successful candidate will undertake will include, but not be limited to:
  • Advice on the full life-cycle of Real Estate properties
  • A particular focus on transactional advice (due diligence, SPA negotiations) and lease agreement advice (drafting and negotiations)
  • Project development (in particular public and private building law)
  • Asset classes: offices, logistic, senior citizens-homes, residential, etc.
This is a relatively small team to join in the Hamburg office itself, but there is also wider support from the firm's impressive global network. Being relatively small in size, the opportunities for genuine career progression over time throughout the ranks to Partnership are very realistic. The firm also has a great reputation for seconding its lawyers to its clients or sister-offices around the World, adding a whole extra valuable dimension for any lawyer in the early-mid-level stage of their careers.
The Candidate:
You will be a 1-4 year experienced real estate lawyer, familiar with the type of work outlined above, in addition to bringing any other valuable skills as they relate to real estate transactions. You will be comfortable facing clients and contributing to relationships thereto, have strong analytical skills, and be able to draft clearly and to a high degree of quality. Fluency in both German and English is vital. You will also need to have at last 16 points in your Staats Exams (8 point minimum in each exam, but 18 points in total).
In return, you will receive the best ongoing training, promotion through the various tiers of seniority at the firm over time, a highly competitive remuneration package, and a whole range of career-related benefits. This is truly one of the best firms to work for, and as someone who regularly recruits for them, it is fair to say that lawyers who work here are justifiably contented to do so.
