  • £90000 - £110000 per annum + Negotiable + Excellent Benefits
  • City of London, London
  • Permanent

An exclusive and rare opportunity has arisen for a senior private client solicitor (8+ PQE) to join a boutique, high-quality private wealth practice in Central London. This is not just a senior hire - it is a strategic appointment with a clear succession plan in place.

With a loyal and high-value client base that includes globally recognised figures in music, fashion, and the arts, as well as long-standing HNW family clients, this is a chance to step into a leadership track and ultimately take over from a successful, well-established partnership over the next 2-5 years.

The Firm

This discreet and highly respected firm punches well above its weight in the private client world, with a profile that blends classic private wealth advisory with strong roots in the creative industries.

They've built an enviable client base over the past several decades, including iconic musicians, fashion designers, record labels, and entrepreneurs, whilemaintaining close, trusted relationships with generations of HNW families across the UK and internationally.

The culture is calm, mature, and focused. There are no egos, no billing targets for the sake of it, just excellent client service, deep technical skill, and a clear long-term vision.

The Role

The firm is seeking to appoint an experienced and well-rounded Private Client Lawyer (9-10+ PQE) to join their team with a view to long-term succession.

This is a rare, career-defining role for someone ready to step into more responsibility and eventually inherit a significant and prestigious client base as three longstanding partners begin to plan phased retirements over the next 2-5 years.

Your work will be varied and interesting, combining classic private client advisory with the kind of clients who make for rewarding and loyal long-term relationships.

Typical work includes:

  • Succession planning and inheritance tax advice for HNW individuals and families
  • Wills, trusts, and probate - from straightforward to highly bespoke and complex
  • Lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection work
  • Estate and trust administration, including multi-jurisdictional elements
  • Advisory work for clients in the music, fashion, and broader creative sectors

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a UK-qualified solicitor with at least 8+ years' PQE in private client work, with a solid grounding in wills, trusts, tax, and estate planning for HNW individuals.

This is not a partner title role at day one, but it is unequivocally a leadership-track hire, and ideally suited to someone who is:

  • Experienced, technically strong, and looking for a long-term home.
  • Interested in business development and practice growth.
  • Excited about taking on a leadership position and inheriting long-term clients.
  • Comfortable in a firm with a strong reputation but low public profile.
  • Someone who values independence, quality, and personal relationships over scale or hierarchy.

What's On Offer

  • Exclusive succession opportunity with a clear route to leadership.
  • Collegiate, low-politics environment where quality of work is prioritised over quantity.
  • A grown-up culture with hybrid working available.
  • Prestige client base across both traditional HNW and creative sectors.
  • No rigid chargeable hours targets - just excellent work and strong relationships.
  • Central London offices in an established private wealth location.
