Senior Legal Counsel | Global Investments Business
This international Investment Management business focuses on investing in Real Estate, Private Property and Infrastructure.
This role will place you at the forefront of the businesses' legal function, giving you exposure to a mixture of high-value Investments/Funds responsibilities and the opportunity to work closely with a well-experienced General Counsel.
The Business
The business is part of a well-renowned, financial group that concentrates on investing in Real Estate, Private Property and Infrastructure all over the Globe. The business has invested in a dynamic combination of Real Estate, including; Shopping Centers, Apartment Blocks, Energy Network's, and much more; with many exciting projects on the horizon in the coming years and months.
You will find a very driven, modern, and responsive team who are motivated to help to achieve the businesses goals. They make decisions quickly, and quite often, their deals are rather fast-paced. Their deal sizes vary from £150-£500 million. This variety in deal size makes for an exciting workload.
They have a growing Real Estate portfolio across most key Cities in the UK; The team work collaboratively from their Central London office, a stone's throw from Liverpool Street station.
The Role
The business is seeking to hire a Senior Legal Counsel to work on an array of Investment and Funds responsibilities alongside the General Counsel and the Legal Counsel, supporting the investment team. The role would be ideal for someone who has some exposure to Investment, Funds, Infrastructure and general Corporate matters.
You will be working alongside the investments team to help to identify and manage potential investment opportunities, by analysing issues, incl; deal structuring, due diligence, deal-related regulatory analysis and managing external counsel in relation to the negotiation of transactional documents. You will also have the opportunity to regularly liaise with the Compliance team, working on KYC and other compliance-related tasks.
It will also be a requirement for you to review and negotiate third-party contracts relating to the businesses daily operations. As well as this, it will be essential for you to keep abreast of regulatory legal developments which will subsequently affect t the company's investment portfolio.
Requirements:
- You need to be a UK qualified Solicitor 5-10 years PQE
- You will have experience in high-value Real Estate works incl; Investment, Funds and Infrastructure
- Able to project manage high-value transactions autonomously
