This highly ranked L500 department in Edinburgh will offer a varied and hands-on Employment role, ideal for a 2 + PQE Solicitor who is looking to take the next step up in their career.

If you have relevant experience in the Scottish Employment and want to step into a leading Employment department, this is your chance to do so.

Role
You will work with a broad mix of clients, primarily employers in the SME and charity sectors, but also individuals.

The team handles the full spectrum of employment law issues, including grievances, disciplinaries, redundancy processes, TUPE, reorganisations, employment documentation and termination advice.

There is a healthy mix of advisory, transactional and contentious work, including regular appearances at Employment Tribunals for both claimants and respondents. The role also involves advising on settlement agreements and negotiating senior exits.

There are opportunities for involvement in business development, networking and mentoring more junior team members, depending on your experience and interest.

Your Experience

  • At least 2 years' PQE with a focus on employment law
  • Confidently managing both employer and employee instructions
  • Comfortable with day-to-day advisory work and employment litigation
  • A strong client communicator with a commercial and practical approach
  • Ideally, some experience supporting corporate transactions or working across teams
  • Motivated to grow your profile and contribute to the wider success of the practice
