The Role
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate (4+ PQE) to join a Tier 2-ranked Energy & Infrastructure team in Glasgow.
You'll play a central role in advising on some of the most high-profile and complex clean energy projects in the UK, with a particular focus on energy regulation and commercial contracts.
Working closely with onshore and offshore renewables developers at the forefront of the UK's transition to net zero, you'll be part of a high-performing team with genuine progression opportunities towards Director level.
This is a chance to take a senior position in an international, market-leading firm while shaping the future of the energy sector.
The Work
- Advising on major regulatory reforms such as grid connections, offshore transmission, and emerging regulation in hydrogen, carbon capture and storage and heat.
- Drafting and negotiating regulated contracts including grid connection agreements, Contracts for Difference, and power purchase agreements.
- Working on complex compensation and mitigation agreements, such as coexistence agreements between offshore projects, radar mitigation agreements, and biodiversity net gain arrangements.
- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts in the clean energy sector, including survey and consultancy contracts, O&M agreements, development services agreements, and joint development agreements.
- Providing regulatory and commercial input in M&A and financing transactions involving energy assets.
Your Experience
- 4+ years' PQE with the relevant Energy & Infrastructure experience.
- The ability to apply complex regulation in a client-friendly, commercial way.
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with experience handling high-value contracts.
- Excellent time management, communication, and client-handling skills.
- The ability to supervise and support more junior lawyers, contributing to the growth of the team.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, thriving in a busy but supportive environment.
Why This Role?
- Be part of a Tier 2-ranked team recognised as a leader in clean energy.
- Work on cutting-edge projects driving the UK's transition to net zero.
- Progression opportunities, with a pathway to Director level discussed at the outset.
- Exposure to top-tier clients, from leading renewables developers to major investors.
- Join a firm with an excellent benefits package, flexible working, and a supportive, inclusive culture.
